Who are we?
ookmannen.be is an initiative by Koen Thomeer, general practitioner in Antwerp, Belgium. Contact: koen@thomeer.be.
What data do we process?
This website does not track you. There is no Google Analytics on it, and no other tracker or advertising code either. The site has no forms or accounts, and no script runs in your browser.
What does exist: the web server of our hosting provider, OVHcloud, keeps a log of what is requested, as every web server does. It records your IP address, the time, the page, your browser and the page you came from. From that log we make simple visitor statistics that contain only totals, such as the number of visitors per day or how often a page was read.
We use your IP address and browser only to count visitors: how many different people came that day, and whether someone had been here before. To do that we turn them into a code from which your address cannot be read. They do not end up in the statistics themselves, and we do not pass them on to anyone.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies, not even analytical ones. So there is nothing to refuse.
One thing the website cannot do for you: your own browser remembers which pages you viewed. If you share a computer or phone with someone you do not trust, use a private window or clear your history afterwards. There are more tips in the safety plan.
Legal basis
The log and the count are based on legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f GDPR): keeping the website secure and knowing which information people need.
Retention period
The hosting provider keeps its logs for a few months. We keep a copy for at most 15 months, so we can look into errors and abuse, and then delete it. The totals in the statistics are kept longer. They contain nothing that points back to you.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete data about you. The statistics contain nothing about you as a person. In the log we can only find you if you give us your IP address and the time of your visit yourself. For questions: koen@thomeer.be.

Changes
This privacy policy may be updated. Last updated: 13 October 2026. Until that date this website used Google Analytics. It has been removed. If an old _ga cookie is still in your browser, it is no longer used and you can safely delete it.
